Planning Practices in the Planning Entities at the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman and their Relation to Job Happiness among Planning Employees from their perspectives.

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the relationship between the level of planning practices in the planning entities at the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman and the level of job happiness among their employees from their own perspectives. The study adopted the descriptive correlational approach, and a questionnaire was used as the study instrument. The questionnaire consisted of 54 items distributed into two dimensions: 29 items measuring planning practices and 25 items measuring job happiness. After verifying the validity and reliability of the instrument, it was administered to a sample of 189 participants, including 149 male employees and 40 female employees.

The findings revealed that the level of planning practices in the planning entities at the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman, as perceived by the employees, was moderate. The findings also indicated that the level of job happiness among the employees in the planning entities was moderate.

The study further concluded that there was a strong, positive, and statistically significant correlation between the level of planning practices in the planning entities and the level of job happiness among their employees. This indicates that the higher the level of planning practices, the higher the level of job happiness among employees.

Based on the findings, the study recommends strengthening the planning entities with competent employees holding specialized academic qualifications in the field of planning, rather than relying solely on years of experience in the educational field. It also recommends promoting decentralization within the planning entities in the educational directorates across the governorates.
